Prussia, Kingdom. A Life Saving Medal Republic of with a lightly knurled 51(Verdienst Ehrenzeichen fr Rettung aus Gefahr). Instituted 1 February 1833 by King Friedrich Wilhelm III. (1907 1918 issue). Constructed of silver, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse bearing a raised and leftward facing profile of King Friedrich Wilhelm III, circumscribed by name and title, the reverse bearing a central wreathed inscription of FR RETTUNG AUS GEFAHR (FOR RESCUE FROM DANGER), unmarked, measuring 24. 79
