A Rare Merit Award visually-hidden circa 1880-1890 period manufactureConstructed of bronze, the obverse consisting of a central Vlaamsch Nationaal Verbond (Flemish National Union VNV) insignia, overlaying a sword, and situated within a circular oak leaf wreath joined together at the bottom by a banner bearing a raised inscription of EER EN TROUW (HONOUR AND LOYALTY), the reverse retaining two lugs, unmarked, measuring 35. 34 mm (w) x 55. 38 mm (h), weighing 9. 2 grams, a rare award in extremely fine condition.
