This is a fine example of a Pre Civil War Officers Cap Device featuring a wreath surrounding a U. S.. This is a very rare insignia to find and this example is in fantastic shape. The device is the typical style as used before and during the Civil War, and worn on all versions of headgear worn by Federal Officers. The insignia is embroidered on a dark blue wool with fine bullion embroidery in gold and silver. The
