This is a very nice fuel drum lid, dated 1943, used by Germany during WWII. This was removed from the drum, which would have been very large and heavy, and brought back home by a USGI after the war. It still has clear embossed markings on it: 19 kxw 43 KRAFTSTOFF 200L FEUERGEFHRLICH WEHRMACHT Produced in 1943, this lid, and presumably the drum it went to, were made by contractor "kxw", Eugen Zumtobel of Dorbirn
