Circa 1950s 1960s, this is a HI LO Free Fall Parachutist helmet. The helmet was officially known as; Helmet, Parachutists, Free Fall, Type I, Without Communication Equipment. It is an early variant and does not have a tag inside. This helmet was used for hi lo or lo lo parachute drops by specially trained troops for infiltration under the radar. The helmet has a black leather outer cover with 3 ribbed semi stiff
