This example appears to actually have woven leather buttons

with only a bit of fur loss and no sign of major moth or beetle damage

There is also a size 54 stamped on the other side of the cap

This is a very nice condition Silver Grade General Assault Badge with Hollow Back and functional pin. The badge measures approximately 2 1 8" x 1 5 8", and is made from stamped zinc alloy, common later in the war. It still has much of the silvering present on the eagle in the center, as well as on the left side wreath, while the rest has oxidized or worn off. Almost all we have seen are almost devoid of silvering,
